Go Christmas, go Hanukkah, Go Kwanzaa, Go Solstice! – Go Gap!

For years and years, the holiday season was The Christmas Season. It was what we grew up with, and I didnt’ really question it, although we celebrated Hanukkah. Then a few years ago, it became The Holiday Season, and mainstream media began to a campaign of equality and a sense of worldwide celebration (at least from my snow-globe perspective). Then there was the Neo-Conservative backlash, leading to pickets of major chains who were trying to be culturally sensitive and all-inclusive. After years of seeing “Keep the Christ in Christmas” signs (which I think they should, it is Christmas for them after all…but it shouldn’t invalidate anyone else’s holidays), how lovely to see recognition of cultural diversity once again in mainstream media.

Sure, this is The Gap we’re talking about, but it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling to have my holiday recognized as well. Guess Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the US, and we’re becoming a marketable demographic. I’ve been called worse than a marketable demographic in my time:)

Plus, the add campaign rocks!
