Dichroic Glass Elder Futhark Runes

Once, long ago, I used to make Runes by painting symbols onto glass pebbles. Then I progressed to etching the symbols into the glass, or into semi precious stone nuggets. Now that I work for a dichroic glass seller and am learning to fuse, this was just the next logical step.
Full set of Elder Futhark runes – 24 symbols and one blank stone. Each stone is approximately 1″ x 3/4″ (2.5cm x 1.75cm). Black back, capped with clear. Kiln fused and annealed for strength, so you needn’t worry about dropping them or rattling them around in your pouch!
Random colors across a full spectrum of rainbow hued dichroic glass; even I don’t know what colors will come out of the batch, as I cover them with the masking, shuffle, and etch them “blind”. (Note: the set pictured here as an example is sold. If you need a picture of your exact set before purchase, please let me know!)
Comes with either an organza bag or a black velvet pouch, as you prefer. I like the organza bag with these runes because you can see the colors through it!
Dichroic (from the Greek for “two colors”) glass is glass that has been coated with a metallic layer, which reflects and refracts light at different wavelengths, creating a beautiful iridescent effect. When placed in a kiln for fusing, the coating shifts colors and fragments slightly, leaving an amazing sparkle that can’t be matched by foil or other methods for adding metallic touches to glass. Created for the aerospace industry, it’s now one of the gems in the glassworker’s toolbox!

“Triplelle” designs got its start when I got married in 2003, and all three of my initials became L’s…Triplelle!
I’ve been crafting since I was wee, and have been selling items off and on at craft fairs and art shows for the last fifteen. Much of what I sell is one-of-a-kind, due to a serious case of Crafter ADD. I enjoy being inspired by themes or motifs, or particularly interesting items like stones, crystals, or charms. I often work in “niche” markets including various Fandoms and religions. Please note that my creation of a particular item, work in a particular style, or descriptions of such items denote my respect for the subject matter and the customers who seek such items, and does not necessarily reflect my own personal beliefs or opinions.
I’m also a mom to a toddler, a former middle school teacher, sometime software tester, a certified HR Professional, and a certified Master Gardener. I am a member of the Oregon Glass Guild, and the EAST and Big Damn Crafters Firefly/Serenity Fans Etsy Street Teams. I’m conversation-friendly, about any topic, so feel free to drop me a line!
I have always loved to create, whether it be fabulous chocolate truffles or an intricate piece of jewelry. And more than that, I really love to share my creations with others. To know that I’ve created something that someone else loves, that’s touched some essential part of their spirit, gives me a great sense of connectedness and contentment.
At the 2009 Oregon Glass Guild Glass Gallery, I received the Artisan’s Choice Award in the Jewelry Category…what a great compliment from my fellow glass enthusiasts!
I sometimes share a studio space with Sheri Spurlock of Rose Valley Glass . We’ve been friends for over 30 years, and share a sensibility about glass and art in general, and the ability to work amiably together in silence or to bounce energy and ideas off one another. We often work together on new endeavors, and frequently entertain (some might say annoy!) our booth neighbors at shows with our dynamic and outgoing friendship.
